As our longest running public awareness campaign, we have acted as the central command for the German “Smoke Detector Saves Lives” initiative for 18 years. In that time, our responsibilities have stretched the entire spectrum of marketing, branding and communication activities and beyond.
Ongoing management includes internal communication between the many members of the association that support the campaign, planning and executing a yearly budget and representing the campaign to the outside world. More concretely this means regular press releases and occasional press conferences, developing and maintaining the website and social media platforms plus coming up with fresh ideas for print and multi-media promotion and advertising.
It is a dynamic project that requires self-reflection and a continuing drive to keep it relevant under changing circumstances.
Beyond those core functions, there are many other activities we have initiated through the years. These include a licensing model for quality smoke detectors and professional specialist training, a logistics operation to fulfill orders and distribute millions of print materials, a roadshow event team, symposiums and trade show appearances.
Probably the most interesting and challenging aspect of the campaign is to understand that it is a dynamic project that requires self-reflection and a continuing drive to keep it relevant under changing circumstances.
