This practical workshop creates a clear pathway for launching or relaunching a website or app. It covers company goals, user needs, technical specifications and content requirements. As the name suggests, the workshop results then form the blueprint for the website/app development process.
The form of the Website/App Blueprinting Workshop varies depending on whether it is combined with other workshops such as the Brand Meridian Workshop. To develop a deeper understanding of our company goals and user needs, we first need to dig into these topics with the activities Tree of Knowledge and Archetype Creation. If these have already been done, we can usually dive directly into The Bridge activity, which is the central part of the workshop. This gives us time to cover other aspects such as information architecture and prototyping of both frontend and backend interfaces.
An impulse talk examines basic cognitive patterns and content prototypes. This serves as inspiration and launchpad to chart out our own architecture. What parts of the website/app should be familiar and trustworthy to the user and what parts should surprise and delight?
