Smoke Detector Day on May 13th
“A Fire Changes Everything. Prepare Your Home Now!” This is the emotional campaign motto for this year’s Smoke Detector Day. In German states where such laws are on the books, home and apartment owners are responsible for installing smoke detectors into all living spaces. These homeowners are at the center of the current campaign for Smoke Detector Day on May 13th, 2016.
Smoke Detector Day is annually always on a Friday the 13th and is dedicated to creating public and political awareness of these life-saving devices. This year’s Fire Prevention Forum campaign, in the form of posters and flyers, aims to show homeowners and landlords that correctly outfitting their living spaces with smoke detectors protects their tenants, families and themselves from the potentially life-threatening consequences of a fire.
